Information You Provide

When you create an account or use our services, we collect: full name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and your selected role (Tenant or Owner). Owners additionally provide property details including address, rent amount, photos, and amenities.

GPS & Location Data

TruePin's core feature is GPS-verified listings. When an Owner adds a property, we capture the precise GPS coordinates of the device at the time of photo upload to verify the owner is physically present at the property. Tenants grant location access to discover nearby listings on the interactive map. We do not track your location continuously — location is accessed only when you actively use the map.

Photos & Media

Owners upload property photos through the TruePin app. Each photo is tagged with GPS metadata at the time of capture to confirm it was taken at the listed property's location. These photos are stored securely on our servers and displayed to potential tenants.

Usage & Device Data

We automatically collect standard technical information including your browser type, device model, operating system, IP address, pages visited, and session duration. This helps us improve app performance and diagnose issues.

Owner ↔ Tenant Contact

When a tenant unlocks a listing, the owner's contact details (phone number) are shared with that tenant to facilitate direct communication. Similarly, when an owner receives a contact request, basic tenant profile information may be visible.

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party providers for cloud hosting (Supabase), image storage, SMS/WhatsApp notifications, and analytics. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and process it only as directed by us.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority in India, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TruePin, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred to the new entity, subject to the same privacy protections.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive fields, row-level security policies on our database, and service-role access controls that prevent unauthorised reads of personal data. We conduct periodic security reviews and restrict employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., transaction records). Property listing data that has been publicly indexed may persist in search engine caches beyond our control.

TruePin uses essential session cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our authentication system uses secure, HTTP-only cookies that cannot be accessed by JavaScript.

You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or using core features of the platform.

TruePin is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at privacy@truepin.in.

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., WhatsApp for direct owner contact). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify registered users by email or in-app notification at least 7 days before significant changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of TruePin after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
